China (Quanzhou) 4th International Puppetry Festival was held in Quanzhou, China from November 8 to 14, 2015. This event was held by the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China and The People’s Government of Fujian Province, and undertaken by Fujian Provincial Department of Culture, the People’s Government of Quanzhou, UNIMA China, the People’s Government of Jinjiang and China Puppetry and Shadow Art Association.
This Festival was a very important event of the 14th Asia Art Festival & 2nd Maritime Silk Road International Festival, within which there were Opening Ceremony of the 14th Asia Art Festival, Opening and Closing Ceremony of the 4th Quanzhou International Festival, Puppetry and Shadow Art Exhibition and Performance and Academic Seminar, etc.
25 troupes, 301 puppeteers and guests from 14 countries and areas, including Australia, Indonesia, Netherland, Belgium, Brazil, Argentina, Serbia, Croatia, German, New Zealand and China, were invited and participated in this International Puppetry Festival. Over 50 shows were performed by participant troupes at theatres, communities, squares and schools in Quanzhou, Jinjiang and Shishi, etc. and were well received by the local audiences.
